I personally love body scrubs, and especially a salt scrub! As I have a really sensitive skin and most of time this leads me to an allergic reaction to beauty products; I decided to make my own recipe. I choose easy to find ingredients and herbs that I like; but feel free to replace Rosemary for your favourite one. Always try to find Organic products or what is available in your garden if you are lucky enough to have one, otherwise know that you can grow herbs in pot on your kitchen countertop!
The epsom salt is a natural mineral composed of magnesium sulfide easily absorbed by your skin, the benefit to name a few: soften your skin, reduces inflammation, relaxes muscles after a workout.
Olive oil because my Mother is from the Southern part of France, so I grew up with olive oil, ‘Herbes de Provence’, Lavender, Rosemary…but also Olive oil keeps the skin moist.
Rosemary for the uplifting and relaxing properties.
Lemon I just love lemon and living in California made me discover Meyer’s Lemon that I drink first thing everyday in warm water. Lemon is a natural whitener for your nails and skin, it reduces dark spots as we age.
Exfoliation is an easy ritual to take care of yourself after work, during your day off or on weekends.
A salt scrub is gently removing dead skin cells help your skin to breathe, look radiant and stay healthy.
Utensils you will need:
- A glass jar for your Body Scrub
- A mixing bowl
- Measuring cups and spoons
Salt Scrub Ingredients:
- 1 cup of Epsom salt
- 4 Tbsp of Olive oil
- 1 Lemon organic juice or even better from your Garden!
- 1 sprig of rosemary
Make the salt scrub:
- Put Oil in mixing bowl
- Add Epsom Salt to mixing bowl
- Mix Oil and Salt using a spoon
- Add Lemon and rosemary leaves.
- Mix again, and set on your bathroom counter or in your shower.
